The Top 25 Tunes of 2011: thus far.

As I am just wrapping up my winter semester at university, and I can’t tell you how happy that makes me. I can focus more on husband-ing, finishing our house, making music and expanding my social life.
I’m also very excited for my future blogging topics: I’m in the midst of writing 2 new album reviews; starting a blog series called Epically Underrated, and writing a promo piece on Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi‘s musical nod to Spaghetti Western films with an album simply called Rome (oh, did I mention the vocalists for this album are solely Jack White and Norah Jones? No, I didn’t — you’re welcome!)
But before I get to those posts, I thought, “Why not indulge in another completely trivial list?”.
As a writer for Paste Magazine recently released a list with more or less the same title, I was inspired to create my own; however, I’ve included a few more songs that readers may have actually heard (unlike said Paste Mag list). Here goes:
(Most of the songs are linked to videos/full-length samples)
25. What Have I Done – Portage & Main
24. Changing – The Airborne Toxic Event
22. Louder Than Ever – Cold War Kids
21.In A Place Of Lesser Men – Matthew Good
19. Rolling In the Deep – Adele
18. That’s It, That’s All – We Are The City
15. You Are A Tourist – Death Cab For Cutie
14. I Feel You – Sam Roberts Band
12. Tree By the River – Iron & Wine
11. Hummingbird – Imaginary Cities
10. Sydney (I’ll Come Running) – Brett Dennen

There you have it. My Top 25 for the first 1/4 of 2011, hope you enjoy and perhaps find a few new, fantastic tunes to add to the iPod!
